Scottsdale, AZ - With playoff hopes still in sight, the Mesa Thunderbirds women's basketball team inched one game closer Wednesday night with a victory at Scottsdale, 73-61.
Diamond Fuller scored 20 points for the T-Birds to go along with six rebounds and one steal while Trae Frazier scored a personal season high of 15 points, Cheyenne Begay scored 12 while Jacey Salabiye contributed 11 points. Also having a solid game was point guard Raenesha Willis, who hauled in 10 rebounds, had four steals and had three assists.
The T-Birds move to 12-16 overall and 9-11 in conference, now sitting currently in the fourth seed position with two games remaining. Mesa will play at Chandler-Gilbert on Saturday afternoon at 2 pm then finalize its regular season next Tuesday night against South Mountain.
