Mesa Community College head coach Daniel Pescador has been selected as the 2025 USTFCCCA NJCAA DII Women's Cross Country National Coach of the Year, earning the honor for the second straight season after guiding the Thunderbirds to back-to-back national championships.
Pescador led Mesa to its second consecutive NJCAA DII National Title in Fort Dodge, Iowa, where the T-Birds once again delivered a decisive team performance. Mesa placed all five scorers inside the top 25, totaling 54 points to win by a significant margin and finish ahead of every other program's fourth runner. Front-runners Kinley Jackson and Olivia Baker crossed in 5th and 6th, setting the pace for a deep and consistent lineup.
The national title capped another strong season for the Thunderbirds under Pescador's leadership. Mesa claimed the ACCAC Championship and the Region I Championship, remaining one of the nation's top teams from start to finish.
This award further highlights Pescador's continued impact on the program as he leads Mesa to sustained national success.
