Albuquerque, N.M. – The Mesa women's cross country team equaled it's showing from a year ago with a ninth place finish at the NJCAA Division I Cross Country Championship Saturday. It was the fourth time in the last five years Mesa has finished among the top ten in the nation.
MCC totaled 344 points and was led by Ellis Collins who placed 52nd overall in the a time of 20:12 for the 5k course. There were 290 competitors in the race.
Tanaeyra Johnson was the T-Birds's second runner in 71st place, clocked in 20:35.
