Mesa Community College outside hitter/opposite Lindsey Leavitt capped her standout freshman campaign with a major national honor, earning a place on the 2025 NJCAA DII Volleyball All-American First Team. The recognition places Leavitt among the top attackers in the country after a season that reshaped Mesa's offensive identity.

Leavitt finished her debut season with 357 kills (59th nationally) and 2.83 kills per set (127th nationally), showcasing her efficiency and versatility. The ACCAC DII Player of the Year delivered 16 double-digit kill performances in the regular season, including nine matches hitting .250 or better and six hitting .300 or better. Her ability to consistently score in high-volume situations earned her three ACCAC DII Offensive Player of the Week awards.

Head Coach Jordan Abalos Herrington said Leavitt's All-American honor captures the full scope of her impact.

"This All-American honor says everything you need to know about Lindsey's season, impactful, commanding, and vital to the success of our program. She didn't just own our offense; she transformed it. From Day one she was determined to show that her comeback story wasn't just about returning, it was about rising to the top," said Herrington.

Herrington noted that Leavitt's national recognition stems from her ability to do far more than score.

"She stood out on a national level because she does all the things great attackers do and then more. Her growth in confidence and leadership this year pushed our entire team forward," said Herrington.

That development, Herrington added, is what elevated Leavitt from a talented newcomer into one of the premier players in NJCAA volleyball.

"Lindsey has proven she belongs among the best players in the country. This award reflects her impact, her consistency under pressure, and her ability to elevate every athlete beside her. Her journey has been anything but easy but her success has been absolutely earned," said Herrington.

Leavitt's First Team All-American selection underscores a freshman season defined by production, resilience, and a competitive edge that reshaped Mesa's attack and signals an even higher ceiling as her Thunderbird career continues.
