MESA VOLLEYBALL DEFEATS NO. 10 ST. JOHNS RIVER STATE TO REACH CONSOLATION SEMIFINALS

Mesa (24–8) earned a 3–1 victory over No. 10 St. Johns River State on Friday afternoon, winning 20–25, 25–21, 25–21, 25–20 to advance to the NJCAA Division II consolation bracket semifinals later tonight at 6 p.m. CT / 5 p.m. MST .
Mesa finished with 48 kills, hitting .160 on 150 attempts, while holding the Vikings to .182 across 154 swings. Marley Avechuco led the attack with 13 kills on 38 attempts (.289) and added 11 digs and two block assists. Lindsey Leavitt matched her with 13 kills and contributed two block assists.
Isa Folau added 7 kills, 11 digs, and a team-high 4 total blocks, while Gracie McArthur provided 7 kills with 4 block assists. Emma Hildwine added 4 kills and 2 block assists, helping Mesa total 15 team blocks (3 solos, 12 assists).
Setter Isabella Jackson ran the offense with 31 assists, adding 12 digs, 3 aces, and 1 block assist. Brianna Anderson anchored the back row with 28 digs and 2 aces, while Paige Thompson added 5 digs and 3 aces in her serving rotations.
Mesa will now face No. 3 Parkland in the consolation semifinals later today at 6 p.m. CT / 5 p.m. MST.
