MESA VOLLEYBALL SWEEPS DAVIDSON-DAVIE TO ADVANCE IN CONSOLATION BRACKET

No. 9 Mesa responded from its opening-round loss with a dominant straight-set victory on Thursday, sweeping Davidson-Davie Community College 25–10, 25–19, 25–23 to move on in the NJCAA Division II Nationals consolation bracket.

Mesa was sharp from the opening whistle, hitting .464 in the first set and finishing at .259 overall while holding Davidson-Davie to .250. Lindsey Leavitt led the offense with 14 kills on .385 hitting, Isa Folau added 7 kills and 6 aces, and Emma Hildwine posted 8 kills on an efficient .571.

Setter Isabella Jackson recorded 20 assists with 2 aces, and Brianna Anderson anchored the defense with 23 digs and 4 aces. Mesa added 3 total blocks and committed just two reception errors in the sweep.

Mesa (23–8) returns to the court on Friday at 1 p.m. CT / 12 p.m. MST, facing the loser between No. 2 Heartland and No. 10 St. Johns River State as they continue their push for a top-five national finish.
