MESA VOLLEYBALL HOSTS PIMA IN REGION I DII SEMIFINAL

No. 1 seed Mesa returns to postseason action on Wednesday, Nov. 5, when the T-Birds host No. 4 seed Pima in the semifinals of the NJCAA Region I DII Tournament at 7 p.m. at Theo Heap Gymnasium.
Mesa enters the postseason with a 20–7 record and a perfect 12–0 ACCAC mark, becoming the first team in program history to finish conference play unbeaten. The T-Birds are led by ACCAC DII Player of the Year Lindsey Leavitt, who has totaled 28 kills while hitting .287 against Pima across their two meetings this season. ACCAC DII Libero of the Year Brianna Anderson continues to anchor Mesa's defense and has already collected 41 digs against the Aztecs this year.
Pima comes into the tournament at 10–13 overall and 6–6 in ACCAC play. The Aztecs are led by All-ACCAC First Team and All-Region I selection Maggie McReynolds, who finished the regular season with 270 kills. In her two matchups with Mesa, McReynolds has posted 32 kills while hitting .291, making her one of the top offensive threats in the conference.
The T-Birds took both regular-season meetings, earning a 3–0 sweep on Sept. 12 and a hard-fought 3–2 victory on Oct. 17.
Wednesday's semifinal will be held at Theo Heap Gymnasium. The match will serve as a Red Out, and fans unable to attend can watch live at https://mesatbirdsports.com/live.
