No. 10 Mesa Volleyball stays perfect in conference play after win against South Mountain

No. 10 MCC Volleyball extended its conference unbeaten streak with a 3–1 road win over South Mountain Community College on Friday night (25-12, 25-16, 24-26, 25-11). With the victory, the Thunderbirds improved to 14-2 overall (6-0 in ACCAC).
Mesa controlled the opening two sets before South Mountain edged out a close third to extend the match. The Thunderbirds quickly regrouped, dominating the fourth set to secure the win.
Marley Cortez led the offense with 12 kills, while Isa Folau added nine kills, 10 digs, and four service aces. Gracie McArthur was a force in the middle, posting nine kills on .316 hitting with four block assists. Lindsey Leavitt chipped in six kills and four blocks, while Aolani Motu contributed three kills and three blocks.
The setting tandem of Isabella Jackson (19 assists, 12 digs, two aces) and Etta Henson (20 assists, one ace, four digs) kept the offense running efficiently. Defensively, Brianna Anderson anchored the back row with 22 digs, helping Mesa limit South Mountain to a .062 team hitting percentage.
Mesa is back in action on Tuesday as they travel to take on DI opponent No. 16 Eastern Arizona College.
