Mesa Community College libero Brianna Anderson etched her name into Thunderbird history this past weekend, recording her 1,000th career dig while at MCC.
Anderson, who was named 2024 ACCAC Libero of the Year, continues to raise the standard for excellence at MCC. Last fall, she set both the school and conference record for digs in a single season with 854, an achievement that underscored her ability to control the floor defensively. Now, just nine matches into the 2025 campaign, Anderson has already amassed 217 digs (7.00 per set), ranking fifth nationally in total digs and 11th in digs per set.
Head coach Jordan Herrington praised Anderson's relentless approach and leadership:
"Brianna has been an indispensable part of our program. She is truly one of a kind—driven, committed, and always striving to improve. She trusts my process wholeheartedly and gives her absolute best every single day. Beyond her personal dedication, Brianna uplifts those around her, providing unwavering support and leadership. She not only makes her teammates better but also commands the floor with confidence and energy. I am so proud of her and excited to see her continue to elevate her game here at MCC and wherever she may go next," said Herrington.
Anderson currently sits at 1,071 digs and counting.
