Brianna Anderson earns NJCAA DII Defensive Player of the Week

Freshman defensive specialist/libero Brianna Anderson was named NJCAA Week 1 DII Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week on Wednesday.

Anderson helped Mesa pull off a historic upset against No. 2 Scottsdale in their season opener, 3-2. In the five sets she played Anderson had 41 digs and 11 assists.

Anderson was also named DII ACCAC Defensive Player of the Week, alongside teammate Marley Avechuco who earned DII ACCAC Offensive Player of the Week.
