PEAY FINISHES REGION RUNNER-UP IN HEPTATHLON

Mesa Community College sophomore Marley Peay delivered a strong all-around performance to place second at the Region I Heptathlon Championships, finishing with 4,114 total points.

Peay showcased consistency across all seven events, highlighted by a first-place finish in the 800 meters with a time of 2:27.05. She opened the meet with a 16.94 in the 100m hurdles and added a 27.05 in the 200m, keeping her in contention throughout.

In the field events, Peay recorded marks of 1.39m in the high jump, 9.18m in the shot put, 5.08m in the long jump, and 31.96m in the javelin, contributing key points in each discipline.

Her balanced effort across both track and field events secured a runner-up finish in a competitive field, leading the way for the Thunderbirds at the regional championship.
