Women's Tennis finishes 18th at Nationals

Mesa Women's Tennis took home a Top 20 finish at the 2025 NJCAA DI Women's Tennis National Championships on Wednesday.
The Lady T-Birds battled the elements in Tyler, TX as a rain delay halted play on day three of competition. Mesa totaled 10 points as they took home 18th place in the field of 28 teams. This is the T-Birds third Top 20 finish in the past four seasons.
Singles:
Lynn Angulo Segu was the top T-Bird performer as she went 4-3 overall during the event. Angulo Segu as a single competitor won three out of four matches and won her final match as a T-Bird in the consolation final by a score of 8-2.
Jackelin Almada Lopez went 2-2 overall, winning one of her two singles matches. Sienna Buttafuoco went 3-4 overall winning two of her four singles matches. Mikaela Correa went 3-3 overall while winning two of her four singles matches. Kambri Stout went 1-2 in singles competition.
Doubles:
In doubles action Almada Lopez and Correa went 1-1 in action while Angulo Segu and Buttafuoco went 1-2 as a pairing.
