MCC College Women's Soccer team earned a hard-fought 1-0 road victory over Paradise Valley Community College on Saturday afternoon.
After a scoreless first half, the Thunderbirds broke through in the 84th minute when Mia Abad delivered the game-winner, burying a free kick from the top of the box for the lone goal of the match.
Mesa outshot Paradise Valley 7-5, including a 6-3 advantage in shots on goal, while goalkeeper Ellie Huish recorded three saves to secure the clean sheet.
The win moves Mesa to 3-7-1 overall and 2-5-1 in ACCAC play. The Thunderbirds will return home on Tuesday to host No. 7 Scottsdale Community College in another key conference matchup.
