MESA WOMEN’S GOLF CLAIMS REGION I TITLE; GERMAINE EARNS MEDALIST HONORS

Mesa Community College Women's Golf captured its sixth straight Region I Championship, finishing with a four-round total of 1,050 (+210) to secure the title.

The Thunderbirds were led by Abree Germaine, who earned individual medalist honors with a 319 (+35), posting rounds of 81-77-84-77 to control the leaderboard throughout the tournament.

Mesa placed four golfers inside the top five to separate from the field. Sara Sawyer finished third overall at 342 (+58) with rounds of 81-90-82-89, while Elina Beyer placed fourth at 343 (+59), carding 85-87-86-85. Annalise Kooner added a fifth-place finish at 351 (+67) with rounds of 80-89-84-98.

Addison Miller rounded out the lineup with a 10th-place finish at 383 (+99), posting rounds of 96-103-95-89.

Mesa's depth and consistency across the lineup proved to be the difference, as the Thunderbirds controlled the tournament from start to finish to extend their Region I title streak to six.

The Thunderbirds will now turn their attention to the NJCAA Women's Golf National Championships in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, set for May 12-15.
