THUNDERBIRD WOMEN’S GOLF LEADS AFTER ROUND ONE OF REGION I CHAMPIONSHIPS

Mesa Community College Women's Golf holds the team lead after the opening round of the NJCAA Region I Championships at Ocotillo Golf Course.

The Thunderbirds posted a team score of +43, placing them in first ahead of South Mountain (+49) and Paradise Valley (+137).

Annalise Kooner led the way for Mesa in round one, carding a +9 to pace the Thunderbird lineup.

Mesa placed multiple golfers near the top of the leaderboard, with Abree Germaine and Sara Sawyer both tied for third at +10. Elina Beyer sits in sixth place at +14, while Addison Miller rounds out the scoring group in 11th at +25.

With a six-stroke advantage after day one, the Thunderbirds will look to maintain their lead as the tournament continues at Ocotillo Golf Course.
