MESA WOMEN’S GOLF CLAIMS TEAM TITLE AT ESTRELLA MOUNTAIN INVITE; BEYER WINS INDIVIDUAL CROWN
Mesa Community College Women's Golf delivered a complete performance to capture the team title at the Estrella Mountain Invite, hosted at Sundance Golf Course.
The T-Birds finished at +113 (56-57), securing a comfortable win over South Mountain CC (+124) while placing all five golfers inside the top 10.
Leading the way was Elina Beyer, who claimed the individual title with a two-day total of +17 (81-80). Beyer set the tone early with a +9 opening round and followed it up with a consistent +8 in round two, highlighted by a steady back nine to close out the win.
Mesa's depth proved to be the difference throughout the event.
Sara Sawyer finished third overall at +28 (83-89), putting together a strong opening round before battling through round two to secure a podium finish. Abree Germaine placed fourth at +31 (86-89), improving her position on day two with a consistent round to remain near the top of the leaderboard.
Addison Miller made a notable jump in round two, improving from a 94 (+22) in round one to an 87 (+15) to finish eighth overall at +37. Annalise Kooner rounded out the lineup in ninth place at +44 (94-94), capping off the T-Birds' sweep of the top 10.
