T-BIRDS CLAIM TEAM TITLE AT SMCC INVITATIONAL; GERMAINE EARNS MEDALIST HONORS
Mesa Community College Women's Golf delivered a championship performance at the SMCC Invitational, capturing the team title behind a dominant showing from Abree Germaine, who earned individual medalist honors.
Germaine led the field over the two-day event, carding rounds of 77 and 80 to finish with a 36-hole total of 157 (+13). Her steady play atop the leaderboard powered the Thunderbirds to the team victory and highlighted a strong overall showing from the lineup.
Sara Sawyer backed up the effort with a runner-up finish, posting consistent rounds of 79 and 79 for a 158 (+14) total to give Mesa the top two individual spots in the tournament.
Mesa placed four golfers inside the top 10, showcasing depth throughout the roster. Elina Beyer and Addison Miller each finished tied for fourth after posting identical 171 (+27) totals. Annalise Kooner rounded out the Thunderbird scorers with a 10th-place finish at 178 (+34), including an improved second-round 85.
