Women's Basketball Avenge Earlier Season Loss to Chandler-Gilbert, Win 67-56

Gilbert, AZ - The Mesa Thunderbirds women's basketball team defeated the Chandler-Gilbert Coyotes Saturday afternoon, 67-56, avenging a loss they suffered at home earlier in the season.

Finishing with 21 points and 12 rebounds Diamond Fuller led Mesa to one win closer to an ACCAC DII playoff berth.  Fuller also finished the game shooting 13-14 from the free-throw line.

Jacey Salabiye also had a solid outing, scoring 16 points while also delivering four assists.  Coming off the bench and giving Mesa a nice shot in the arm was Janelle Barkey, who shot 5-6 from the floor and went 4-4 from the free-throw line for 14 total points.  She also collected three steals and had one block.

The T-Birds are now 10-11 in the conference, sitting currently in the third seed position heading into the final game against South Mountain, which will be at home next Tuesday at 5:30 pm.
