Mesa, AZ - It was another solid win for the Mesa Thunderbirds women's basketball team Wednesday night as they defeated the Glendale Gauchos, 92-62.
Not only was this the T-Birds highest total points in game this season, it was also their largest margin of victory. The T-Birds had four players in double-figures scoring wise, as Diamond Fuller led all scorers with 26 points while point guard Raenesha Willis scored 16 points, Janelle Barkey scored 11 points and Lynnae Mitchell scored 10 points.
This was a wire-to-wire victory for the T-Birds as Mesa held a seven point advantage after the first quarter, 21-14, but held a commanding lead at halftime, 41-24.
For the T-Birds now this season, they are 4-6 overall with a 3-1 ACCAC record. Mesa will be on the road this coming Saturday when they take on the Arizona Western Matadors in Yuma, AZ, beginning at 5:30 pm.
