NO. 6 MESA MEN’S CROSS COUNTRY FINISHES REGION I RUNNER-UP

No. 6-ranked Mesa Community College Men's Cross Country team turned in a strong showing Friday morning at Crossroads Park, finishing as the NJCAA Region I Division II Runner-Up with a team score of 70 points.
Paradise Valley Community College claimed the team title with 60 points, narrowly edging the Thunderbirds in a highly competitive race.
Alex Lopez led the way for Mesa, placing ninth overall with a time of 26:22.0, followed closely by Cal Schnepf in 11th at 26:25.2. Josef Iker (15th – 26:46.5) and Dean Haller (16th – 26:46.8) provided key middle-pack strength, while Brady Moar rounded out the scoring five in 19th place at 27:02.7.
Also competing for the T-Birds were Benett Kaup (22nd – 27:16.1) and Caleb Faba (32nd – 27:54.6).
The result marks another strong postseason performance for the Thunderbirds, who will now set their sights on the NJCAA Division II National Championships in November.
