TRACK & FIELD DELIVERS STRONG SHOWING AT ACCAC CHAMPIONSHIPS

Results

Mesa Community College Track & Field turned in a strong performance at the ACCAC Championships, highlighted by multiple individual titles and key scoring finishes across both the men's and women's teams.

The Thunderbirds were led by standout efforts in the field events, where they captured several event championships. Maleah Tucker continued her dominant season with a pair of conference titles, winning both the women's discus (40.74m) and hammer throw (49.04m). Michael Mickelson added another top performance in the men's pole vault, clearing 5.10m to claim the conference crown.

Mesa also saw success in the vertical and horizontal jumps. DeAndre Gatlin won the men's high jump with a clearance of 2.02m, while Camden Ehrlich took the men's long jump title at 7.02m. In the women's pole vault, Paige Hanchett secured first place with a mark of 3.61m.

On the throws side, Dylan Smith captured the men's discus title with a throw of 46.87m, while Asher Pindar added another first-place finish in the men's shot put (13.57m). Holden Bundy rounded out the field event champions with a win in the men's javelin (60.29m).

On the track, Mesa continued to produce strong results in the middle-distance events. Caden Hardison earned the men's 800-meter title with a time of 1:53.38, while Lucy Melzer claimed the women's 800-meter championship in 2:13.94.

Mesa also added a hurdle title as Jonathan Korolsky won the men's 110-meter hurdles in 14.63.

Across the meet, the Thunderbirds consistently placed near the top of the leaderboard, contributing valuable team points in both track and field events. Their depth and balance were evident throughout the championships, as Mesa remained competitive in nearly every event group.
