Women's Soccer:
Mesa Community College women's soccer fell 8–1 on the road to No. 9 Pima Community College on Saturday in Tucson. The loss drops the Thunderbirds to 2-7-1 overall (1-5-1 ACCAC).
Pima scored twice in the opening 32 minutes before Mesa got on the board in the 42nd minute, when Daniella Orellana scored to cut the deficit to 2–1. The Aztecs responded after halftime with six unanswered goals to put the match out of reach.
Mesa was limited to just three total shots in the match, while goalkeeper Ellie Huish tallied eight saves against 16 shots on goal.
Men's Soccer:
The Mesa men's soccer team came up short on the road against No. 7 Pima, falling 2–0 Saturday in Tucson. With the result, the Thunderbirds move to 3-2-2 overall (2-2-2 ACCAC) .
Pima struck for two first-half goals to take early control and added a third in the 76th minute to seal the match. Mesa created chances with six total shots but was unable to break through against a disciplined Pima defense.
Goalkeeper Cole Wise recorded four saves to keep the T-Birds within reach for much of the contest .
Mesa is back in action on Saturday , as both teams travel to face Paradise Valley in another ACCAC doubleheader.
