Mesa, AZ - The Mesa Thunderbirds men's soccer team played to a 2-2 tie against Glendale Saturday night at John D. Riggs Stadium.
Both teams went back and forth with their goal scoring, starting with the Gauchos in the 7th minute of the match. The T-Birds then scored in the 20th minute by Ivan Medina with an assist from Kevin Oliveraz.
The Gauchos finished the half with another goal to take a 2-1 lead into halfime. Ghanen Lilly-Nolan tied the match back up in the second half in the 78th minute that ended the scoring by either team.
With the tie, Mesa moves to a 1-3-1 record on the season. They will host South Mountain on Tuesday night at 7 pm and then host Yavapai on Saturday morning at 10:30 am while also finishing their match with Arizona Western on Thursday that was postponed due to lightning this past week.
