Men's Golf punches their ticket to NJCAA National Championship after Runner-Up finish at Region Championship

Mesa Men's Golf punched their ticket to the NJCAA Men's Golf Championship on Thursday after they took second in the NJCAA Region I Championship at Ocotillo Golf Course.

The T-Birds played a consistent tournament as they were able to shoot +50 (83-76-87-88-334) in the event. Mesa was 32 strokes behind the champion South Mountain, and 19 strokes ahead of third place Chandler-Gilbert. 

Kush Shah led the way for MCC as he finished in fourth place after shooting +8 (72-73-75-73-292) in the four round event, just one stroke behind third place Adam Croix. Teammate Nathan Giles was close behind as he finished in fifth place behind a +12 (72-72-75-77) showing in the tournament. 

Luke Stephens finished tied for seventh after shooting +17 (76-71-74-80-301) in the event while Tanner Thompson fired +20 (82-74-77-72-304) after he jumped up six places in the final round. 

The T-Birds will now set their attention to the NJCAA Men's Golf National Championship May 20-23 at Swan Lake golf Resort in Plymouth, IN.
