T-Bird Golf begins championship week on Monday

Mesa Golf opens up play in the NJCAA Region I Championship on Monday as they look to bring home the hardware at the Ocotillo Golf Course.

The 72 hole tournament will pit the best of the best in Region I against each other as hardware and a trip to the NJCAA National Championship is on the line.

The Lady T-Birds come into play ranked as the No. 2 team in the country as they were last in action in early April in the Coyote Classic. Prior to the Coyote Classic, the T-Birds took 11th in a stack field of NCAA programs at the SMSU Classic.

The Thunderbird Men come in ranked as the No. 17 team in the country as they are coming off a 3rd place finish at the Coyote Classic and a 2nd place finish in both the SMCC and Glendale Invite. 

The T-Birds tee off at 12 p.m. on Monday as they search for the title.
