Salt Lake Wins Holiday Tournament Championship Game

Mesa, Ariz. - The Salt Lake Community College Bruins defeated the San Bernardino Valley Wolverines in the championship game Thursday night, 70-65.

The first half was back and forth as both teams traded blows before the halftime buzzer sounded. Going into the break the Bruins led, 38-37 as they shot 52% from the field and 45.5% from deep. The Wolverines also shot the ball with a high mark in the opening half as they were 46.7% from the field and 53.8% from behind the three-point arc.

The second half got physical and intense as there were 20 fouls between the two teams. The Bruins were able to survive multiple Wolverine runs as they held on to win as the final buzzer sounded.

The Bruins were led in scoring by Jaquan Scott who tallied 17 points and seven rebounds in the victory. Armon Muldrew led SBVC in scoring as he had a game-high 24 points.
