Mesa's two-time All-American Mitchell Morimoto has earned the 2016 Marucci NJCAA DII Elite Hitter award for the Southwest District.
Morimoto batted .463 on the season with 14 doubles, 11 triples and five homeruns. He had a .506 OBP with 26 walks.
With earning his second NJCAA Second Team All-American honor, Morimoto will play on the NJCAA National Team in the NBC(National Baseball Congress) World Series.
The National Team features the best two year players in the country and 11 All-Americans, five Marucci Elite Hitters, two ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove Award winners, three national champions and 18 DI signees.
The National Team will compete against elite amatuer teams from across the country from July 29-August 13th, at the Lawrence-Dumont Stadium in Wichita, Kansas.
