T-BIRD MOMENTS OF 2025-26: CARMELLA GALLARDO TIES PROGRAM RECORD WITH 11 THREE-POINTERS

One of the most remarkable individual performances of the 2025-26 season came on February 4, 2026, when Mesa Community College guard Carmella Gallardo delivered a historic shooting display against South Mountain Community College.

Gallardo tied the program record for most three-pointers made in a single game, connecting on 11 shots from beyond the arc as the Thunderbirds cruised to a 104-24 victory.

The freshman guard finished with a season-high 45 points, shooting 11-for-18 from three-point range to match the school record originally set by Anne Marie Batista in 2023. Her performance helped propel Mesa to its 16th victory of the season while improving the Thunderbirds to 10-2 in ACCAC play.

Gallardo's 45-point outburst ranks among the top scoring performances in program history and served as a defining moment of the season for Thunderbird Women's Basketball. The record-tying effort showcased her ability to take over a game offensively and further solidified her status as one of the premier guards in the conference.

As one of the standout moments from the 2025-26 campaign, Gallardo's historic night remains a memorable chapter in the tradition of excellence within Mesa Community College Women's Basketball.
