The Mesa Community College Athletic Department is proud to announce that Ali Borhani, who has been serving as Mesa's Head Tennis Coach for the past two seasons and an assistant coach for a few more, has been hired at Boise State University as an assistant coach on the men's side.
Borhani has been instrumental in helping the T-Birds be a top tier junior college tennis program for several season and his presence will be greatly missed.
"I like to start by thanking all the players that entrusted myself and Coach Cohen, with their futures during my time at Mesa CC. None of our accomplishments would be possible without the student-athletes and the staff that made the job easier. I like to personally thank Dr. Pearson for her belief in me and the international student-athletes. Also, I would like to thank Janet Vogt, Kathleen Lüppker, Supaluck Senaluang, Mike Lavella, and Marty Parel. Without these individuals help, no program on campus would be successful. I would also like to thank Coach Kori Stephenson and Sam Stevens for their daily advice and the positive words. They make sure to go out of their way to help me to be a successful Coach. Lastly, I would like to thank my parents and Coach Adam Cohen, without them and the influences on me as a person and as a Coach, I would not be half of the men that I am today. Because of Coach's Cohen trust on me, I can now leave my dream of coach Division 1 Tennis at Boise State University. I wish everyone the best going forward and excited to see what the future holds for the 2019 Mesa Men's and Woman's Tennis Program. Go T-Birds!" said Coach Borhani.
