Big second day lifts women's golf to win at Chandler-Gilbert Invitational

  Queen Creek, AZ – Using its second best team round of the year, a 318,he women's golf team held off a challenge from the host team to win the Chandler-Gilbert Invitational Sunday.

  MCC fired a 320-318—638 to expand on its four-shot lead after day one and win its 82nd consecutive ACCAC tournament. CGCC was second at 324-332—656 and Pima took third place with a 348-344—692.

  Haley Kapanicas won medal honors at 76-75—151, while Megan Fusak placed second carding a 75-78—153.

  Hannah Brown improved five shots and placed seventh shooting an 83-78—161 and Cheyanne Stewart was 11th, posting an 86-87—173.

  The T-Birds will host their own invitational April 23-24 at the Longbow G.C.
