  Sun City, AZ – The Mesa women's golf team stretched out a 52-shot win in capturing the Scottsdale Invitational Tuesday at the Hillcrest G.C.

  MCC's Haley Kapanicas took medal honors with a 77-79—156 to win by three shots.

  The T-Birds carded a 320-326—646 for the 36 holes easily outdistancing Chandler-Gilbert which shot a 352-346--698. South Mountain took third place at 368-356—724.

  The victory was Mesa's 78th in a row in ACCAC play.

  As it did in the first round, MCC had four of the top six individuals. Megan Fusak tied for second with a 78-81—159. Hannah Brown placed fifth recording an 83-80—163 and Cheyanne Stewart was sixth at 82-86—168.

  Mesa will next see action Feb. 26-27 at the Estrella Mountain Invitational at the Tres Rios G.C.
