Men's golf ties for second at South Mountain Invitational

  Phoenix, AZ – Division I aster Arizona made up four shots against seventh-ranked Mesa to force the T-Birds into a second-place tie at the South Mountain Invitational Tuesday.

  MCC closed with a 284-286—570 while EAC posted a 288-282—570. Both finished 24 shots in back of South Mountain which closed with a 276-270—546.

  For Mesa, Jake Guess was the top finisher, tying for sixth place with an even-par 71-71—142. Ryan Porter took ninth place, one shot back at 71-72—143 and Brad Pottle and Zane Smith each ended at two over. Pottle recorded a 73-71—144 and Smith a 69-75—144.

  The T-Birds will tee it up April 16-17 at the Paradise Valley Invitational to be played at the Gainey Ranch G.C.
