Gilbert, AZ - The Mesa T-Birds lost Wednesday night at Chandler-Gilbert, 66-55.
Chandler-Gilbert started quick, taking a 17-3 advantage within the first six minutes of the game. Mesa shot 6-33 in the first half, 4-18 of which were from three. Though the T-Birds were able to chip away at the first half lead, Mesa was still down 31-17 at halftime.
Mesa kept battling in the second half to cut the deficit but the T-Birds just couldn't get enough shots to fall when they had the chance. At the four minute mark of the second half, the Coyotes held a 58-41 lead but Mesa rattled off a 12-3 run til the 37 second mark, making it 61-53 game. That's the closest Mesa would come for any kind of comeback victory.
With the loss, Mesa is now 14-9 overall and 9-7 in the ACCAC. The T-Birds will host Central Arizona on Saturday afternoon at 4 p.m.
